Moxi Laser Treatments
In Dallas, TX
The Sciton Moxi is a fractionated 1927 nm laser that causes non-ablative zones of micro-coagulation, stimulating collagen production and promoting the body’s natural wound healing process. This combination allows for fractional skin treatment resulting in cosmetic improvement in pigmentation, tone, and texture of the skin.
Moxi works using the principle of photothermolysis. With its efficient water absorption, Moxi heats water in the epidermal and dermal layer of the skin resulting in Microscopic Treatment Zones (MTZ) of non-ablated tissue. These MTZ’s are surrounded by healthy tissue, speeding healing time and reducing downtime for the patient. During the first day after a treatment, the body’s natural healing process begins to re-epithelialize the MTZ’s. The combination of the non-ablative nature of the MTZ’s and healthy surrounding tissue creates a faster release of the microscopic epidermal necrotic debris (MENDS) and completes the flaking process within 3-4 days. The epidermal tissue responds immediately to the initial non-ablative process allowing for quicker healing and minimal downtime. These wounds stimulate neocollagenesis and help to reduce the signs of photoaging. The energy delivery is limited to the MTZ’s, minimizing patient discomfort.
